A cross-section cut across the building from side to side, this drawing shows the Cleveland Public Library's interior in a way no street view can. The main library on Superior Avenue was designed by the Cleveland firm Walker and Weeks and opened in 1925 in the Beaux-Arts style. Drawings like this one helped architects and builders plan how the public reading rooms, book stacks and structure fit together within the building's large footprint. Look closely at how the rooms are layered from one floor to the next.
