Johnny Weissmuller and Maureen O'Sullivan share this 1934 one-sheet as Tarzan and Jane, and its title, *Tarzan and His Mate*, marks the MGM sequel to the 1932 *Tarzan the Ape Man*, which had made Weissmuller a star. The film's jungle romance and its more revealing scenes drew attention from censors, and the studio's advertising leaned on the couple's pairing to sell it. The poster was printed by the Tooker Lithograph Company in New York, a firm known for the large color lithographed posters of the period.
