The label on this glass negative names a Roosevelt residence in Washington, but that title comes from the National Photo Company's own notes and has not been independently confirmed. The company photographed the capital's buildings and street scenes across the years roughly 1909 to 1923, the span given for this negative. Glass plates were the standard medium of that era, and the streaks and spots visible on the image are typical of coatings that have deteriorated with age.
