This printed fabric pairs the names of Abraham Lincoln and Hannibal Hamlin, the Republican presidential ticket in the 1860 election. Campaign makers produced many such textile novelties, including handkerchiefs and banners, which supporters could carry, wear or hang at rallies. The record credits H.C. Howard of Philadelphia, and the image's color lithograph technique shows how quickly political imagery reached ordinary voters in that election year.
