Its only identifying detail is the title "Keener," which comes from unverified data on the original caption cards, so the subject could be a person, a place, or something else. The negative belongs to the George Grantham Bain Collection, built by the Bain News Service in New York, which supplied news photographs to newspapers in the early twentieth century. Bain's photographers covered politics, sports, theater, and street life, and their glass plates were often labeled with little more than a short name or caption.
