Stanley, shown gazing out a window in what the title calls studio 6, sets this glass negative apart from the agency's usual street and event scenes. It comes from the George Grantham Bain Collection, made by the Bain News Service, a New York agency that supplied newspapers with pictures in the early twentieth century. Glass plates were the standard medium for press work of that era. The record gives no date, and the title rests on unverified notes, so the sitter's identity remains open.
