The only identifying detail for this picture is its title, "Jardon," which the Library of Congress notes was taken from caption cards or negative labels supplied by the Bain News Service and has not been independently verified. The record gives no date, so the name is the best clue to what the image shows. The Bain News Service was a New York news photo agency founded by George Grantham Bain, active in the early twentieth century, and it sold pictures to newspapers of current people, places and events. Its glass negatives, like this one, were often captioned quickly for wire and newspaper use, so the labels are worth reading with some caution.
