If I remember right, there's a wonderful dinner place called The Red Caboose or something like that in Libby.

It's not too far from the Uinta County Fairgrounds, but then again not much in Evanston was. (really, it is a nice city). :-Dan (back from summer) From X Tue Aug 31 09:51:50 EDT 1993 Article: 5951 of rec.food.restaurants

If you find yourself in Cody, I recommend eating in the dining room of The Irma Hotel. It was built in ~1906 by Bill Cody (and named after his daughter.) The dining room is in what used to be the bar and has a beautiful cherry backbar. There is always buffalo on the menu and usually Rocky Mountain oysters as well. Also, if you detest chain motels like I do, you would probably like staying at The Irma as well. If you are going by Jenny Lake (just south of the Tetons) and your wallet feels fat, call the Jenny Lake Lodge and ask whether they are still run by RockResorts and if you can have dinner in their dining room. My wife and I stayed there in 85 or 86 and it was expensive and worth it. The food was outstanding with lots of local ingredients and the view of Jenny Lake and the Tetons was magnificent. Have a great trip,
If you are traveling along I-80:
Cheyenne Los Amigos -- not sure what the address is, but it
is just north of the Holiday Inn
Really good Mexican food.
Laramie Grand Avenue Pizza -- on the corner of 3rd St and
Grand Ave. Really good fresh pizza,
calzones, sandwiches.
Rose's Cafe -- 2nd St -- one block south of Grand Ave.
Pretty good traditional (Americanized)
Chinese food.
The Calvalryman -- South of Laramie on US 287. Steak
and Seafood. I believe this place is only open
for dinner and possibly a Sunday brunch.
Rock Springs Grubs -- 9th St. -- REALLY GOOD Greasy Spoon type place.
Great hamburgers -- I recommend a Deluxe
Shamrock! (Comes with fresh made french
fries). If you blink you'll miss it -- Really
small place on the south side of the rode.
traveling along US 191
Pinedale The Wagon Wheel (?) -- I can't remember the name but it is
the restaurant located right on the west side of 191
on the south east side of town right on the bend in
the road. It is the place that is always busy,
especially during the summer. Homemade pies, breads.
Really good down home type of food.
Jackson I could make a list a mile long for places here. My favorite
is The Bunnery. Good all natural food -- lots of
vegetarian dishes. For other places, you can find a
Dining Guide at most restaurants and motels.
Hopefully this post isn't too late. I missed the original posting. I know of a
lot of other places too, depending on which roads you travel (my husband and I are
both from Wyoming), so if you need more info, just send me email.
