Allow me, based on personal experiences, to recommend a few interesting eateries in the Wisconsin Dells area: *PIZZA: I would recommend the Pizza Pub, especially the one on Wisconsin Dells Parkway by Noah's Ark. Anyone at Noah's Ark will easily recommend them to you, perhaps thanks to their largest-size pizza (20", hand-tossed) being named in honour of their Big Kahuna wavepool. (They also have an exceptional noon buffet.) *BREAKFAST: Traditionalists will easily recommend Paul Bunyan's Lumberjack Cook Shanty, perhaps because of its "all-you-can-eat" nature, and a very hearty one besides. Pancakes, sausages, hash-browned potatoes, scrambled eggs, homemade donuts--such can easily fill you up quickly, so have plenty of appetite! Equally welcome (especially among the value-conscious) are the Dells Grill (itself a tradition among the "locals" for breakfast, even in high season) and The Dell Haus, one of several places as serves Howie's Huge Breakfast for only $3.49. Good value for money indeed. *BUFFETS: A Dells tradition right there! Some as I have tried include: --Dick's Polish-American Buffet: Pricey, but excellent. They feature roast beef, fried chicken, pierogies (potato dumplings), golabki (cabbage rolls), kielbasa (Polish sausages) and a rotating daily special. Polish-Americans as visit the Dells will easily make this a regular stop, especially for the pierogies. --Henny Penny Restaurant: The name may sound a bit childish, but they serve a manageable buffet at dinner, plus a breakfast buffet on the weekends. Menu changes daily, and dessert is extra; nonetheless, they come recommended. --Ramada Rainforest Resort: They serve what could be the best Sunday brunch around, especially since House of Embers dropped theirs a couple years ago. I tried it last summer, and I find it quite agreeable. *OPEN-AIR DINING: Definitely The Lighthouse. Especially recommended for after taking in the Lower Dells Boat Tour (at whose docks they're located, by the way!); specials daily, and the staff is quite decent. I hope these suggestions are helpful.
