Joan,

I've not been to the Kilbourn Cafe, but, right down the street from there, there is another restaurant called The Water Street Brewery. It is a few blocks North of the Wyndham on Water Street.

Has it's own micro-brewery and home-spun beverages, as well as interesting fare. (An example: Hard-boiled egg in a sausage coating
deep fried and served with stone ground mustard as an apetizer)

Dress is very casual and atmosphere is friendly.

Thought you might be interested if you are in the area for an extended stay.

Also, with respect to "Top 25" restaurants, I believe there is another one of the "Top 25" at the Grand Milwaukee Hotel near the airport. Don't know if you are from Wisconsin area or flying in, but, if flying in, you might want to try the restaurant at the hotel.

Other places you might want to consider or visit:

 Mader's
 Usinger's
Revolving restaurant at the top of the Hyatt
(nice for a drink in the evening and watching the city by night)
    (Can't comment on the food)
 House of Prime Rib
 Dinner at the Pfister

 Just some "food for thought".....

I'm actually a flatlander, but went to school years ago up in
Milwaukee, and am fairly familiar with the "Downtown" Milwaukee
 area.
