> >- Kaspar > >- Campagne > >- Canlis Can I ask how Palisades compares to these three, in your opinions? It's the nicest place I've been in Seattle since we moved here - in the quality of food, service and ambiance. The second, by a pretty big jump, would have to Ponti's. I wouldn't even think of adding Ponti's to this note, except that my hubby and I dropped around $250 for a dinner for four there. That wouldn't be a lot of money for some places (in LA or NY), but it wasn't a good value for money for Ponti's. On another closely related thread, what are people's top picks for *excellent* food (comparable to above), but in a less fancy and more intimate environment. I found Matt's in the Market, for example, to be very romantic and excellent quality.
Seattle, WA
Which one to choose?
I think Chez Shea in the market is one of the finest, most romantic places around. Great food, intimate atmosphere, somewhat pricey, but cheaper than some of the others being discussed. Worth it. The lounge, Shea's Lounge, is also good, different menu, cheaper fare. betay avone --

Their fare is exquisite, perhaps the finest I've experienced. Ambience is elegant, although I don't know that 'intimate' would be an apposite description. I took a loved one to Canlis on her birthday. I have been well rewarded for it. daan
