Has anyone tried this place? It is called Mamma Molina's. I too heard good things about it, so we decided to check it out. The service was poor and snooty. The food was ho hum. The salads were expensive and small and I think they charged if you wanted more bread. I never went back.

I didn't see this one mentioned before and it is well worth adding:
Gaspare's, 15th NE and Lake City Way -- looks bland on the outside but
it is quite nice inside with excellent food. Gaspare was a cook on
an Cruise liner. He liked Seattle and decided to move here.
Seafood is his specialty and they offer an assortment of very nice
regular dishes plus some seafood specials. (Note that they also
have veal, chicken and even pizza but I have never tried any of
these.)
The sauces tend to be olive oil based (rather than dairy). The last
time I was there I had a usual (for them) seafood assortment (clams,
muscles, prawns and calamari) over linquini with a white wine/caper sauce.
My co-diner had a special which was Chilean sea bass over linquini with
shitaki mushrooms in a rosemary/white wine/lemon sauce. It was amazing.
Prices for the seafood are in the $12-$17 range and include a salad. Beer
and wine are available as well as deserts. Portions tend to be on the
large side. Service is friendly and competent. In other words, I like it.
