Peter - Although I was raised on west coast pizza, several of my friends from the east coast tell me La Piazza in the Greenwood district makes them pretty happy. I myself have tried it and loved it. The only equal in Seattle IMHO is Pegasus Pizza in west Seattle. I also like Coyote Creek Pizza in Kirkland, but it is most definitely *not* midwest/east coast pizza. From what my east coast friends tell me, you will *never* find pizza around here comparable to what you were raised on :-(

I have never been to North Lake but have only heard great things about it. As far as Vinces goes, it's only o.k.. I loved it as a child thought...nice and greasy. IMHO, Jack
While you guys are arguing about North Lake Tavern, I'll be at Atlantic Street pizza having a feast. The U-District one is take-out only, the one in Ballard is sitdown. I swear each pizza must weigh 10 pounds. Very garlicy. My office- mates seem to think the sauce is too sweet, but I disagree. I think they use a lot of rosemary, but that's OK with me. It's not "New York" or "Chicago" style, but it's good in its own way. I also suggest Romio's, and Olympia Pizza on Queen Anne is a local favorite, although I was not real impressed. I also like Piecora's for really greasy pizza.

Anyone else with Kirkland pizza recommendations? >Thanks, Elizabeth I also like Coyote Creek Pizza, although sometimes I'm in the mood for a more "gourmet" type of pizza (ie: chicken, fish, nuts, fruits or anything else out of the ordinary). Then I go to Da Vinci's, by the waterfront. Nice atmosphere in the summer too. ============================================================== Paige Watson e-mail: [email removed] http://www.accessone.com/~paigew Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari?
