Seeking Seattle Brewpub/Beer Suggestions

I agree with most of the prior suggestions, but nobody mentioned the Big Time Brewery. It is on "The Ave" in the U-District, and has variable but often spectacular beer. I highly recommend the "Bhagwan's Best IPA" if they have it. It's very hoppy and quite tasty. Here's the best part - only $2.50 pints or $7.50 pitchers! Try finding microbrew anyplace else in town for that! They also have good sandwiches and pizza that can be great or mediocre, depending upon the night. The College Inn pub right across the street is loud and smoky, but can be fun and usually has some interesting and hard to find beer choices. For great cheap food and a truly awesome beer selection, I like the Hilltop Ale House in Queen Anne and the 74th Street Ale House (same owners.) The Hilltop usually has 2 cask conditioned English style bitters, a particular favorite of mine. I once got Deschutes Batchelor Bitter from the cask there: unbelievable! The Portland based McMenimans brew pub chain has a couple locations in town: average bar food but some of the best beer around, in my opinion. Pacific Northwest Brewing has a brew pub in Pioneer Square. They serve all cask conditioned ales which are quite good, but once again, I am not too impressed with the food. Man, all this talk about beer is giving me a powerful thirst! I could use one right now... Happy hopping! -Jeff
