You can easily eat lunch there for $5.00. I work near Eastgate Way and 156th, next to I-90, and it's only about a 10 minute drive from there down 156th. The O'Char Thai restaurant in Loehmann's Plaza (across from and a block north of Factoria Mall, which is just south of the I-90/I405 intersection) has 12 lunch specials for $4.95, and the food is very good. The Peking Wok, down one of the side streets directly across the street from Factoria, also has a whole bunch of lunch specials for under $5.00. Most of the major supermarkets in the area have salad bars - there's one actually in Factoria (a Safeway?) and a QFC in Loehmann's Plaza. Debbie Schwartz // [email removed] // or

Crossroads is great any time of day (my wife and I like to have dinner there when I'm at home), but it's kind of a drive from either 405 or 90, especially with Bellevue's penchant in recent years for randomly tearing up streets. > The Peking Wok, down one of the side streets directly across the street from > Factoria, also has a whole bunch of lunch specials for under $5.00. The food is as good as any Chinese restaurant in Bellevue, though I haven't been there for lunch. If you're downtown (where lunch for $5 is a real challenge), try the yakisoba at Cafe Endless, in the strip mall across from Larry's Market on 120th. There's teriyaki and other such stuff too. Larry'$ it$elf i$ healthy, but probably ju$t a little bit out of the price range you have in mind. If you're near the freeways, it's probably not any harder to get over to Mercer Island for lunch. One of my favorite lunches (though it's not quite what it used to be a few years ago) is a sandwich at C'est Cheese, a deli next door to the Mercer Island Safeway. I think you can probably do all right for $5 over there, unless they've jacked up the prices. Jeff Carroll [email removed]
