Just took my wife to Rio Brazilian Grill tonight, despite the MSG warning. Short review: a bit pricey, but we'll probably be back. Some observations: (a) They've raised their prices a bit: $22 for adults, $13 (?) for children under 4'6", and $7 for ones under 3'6" (or somesuch). Unlike at other all-you-can-eat places, standard tipping is expected (and quite reasonable, given how much the waitstaff does!) (b) My wife has strong reaction to MSG; there was almost certainly none in the food we had, but we did have some digestive-tract irritation afterward. It may have merely been the large amount of salt? (c) Very tasty. There was: - their usual 8 or so side dishes (the potato salad. beef&bean stew, and garlic bread were particularly tasty) - the following grilled items on skewers: o sausage sliced into little discs (which my wife loved) o pineapple wedges o salt-crusted tri-tip (really nice) o pepper steak w/bacon o beef sirloin (I think) o at least one other beef cut o shrimp (probably "25-30 per pound" size) o chicken o vegetables (zucchini, onion, green & red bell peppers) o turkey breast w/bacon o corn-on-the-cob with butter (about 1" thick discs) o chicken hearts There may have been one or two other grilled items, but I can't remember them right now. We didn't have room for dessert, so no review of that... sorry. (d) Only two other parties there when we arrived at 8:00 (three and two people); a party of seven arrived shortly after we started eating. (e) The hours listed on Seattle Times' Datebook are slightly incorrect (they're closed on Mondays, open from 5-9 on Tuesdays... overheard the waiter say that they were busiest on Fridays and Saturdays, so presumably that's when they're open latest)
