I just want to second Dave Coder's recommendations--except Pirosmani
(never been there myself) and Ray's Boathouse. Ray's is very popular with
tourists, and has a tremendous view which is why it always (justifiably)
recommended, but the food is second rate at best and the wine list leaves
a lot to be desired (IMHO!).

Dave has assembled the best of the best, though--don't miss Wild Ginger!

I tried to post some suggestions before but unfortunately it got fouled
up (took a wrong turn on the superhighway) so here it goes again!

Unfortunately I am no longer in Seattle so I don't have phone book access
like I did this weekend but I will give street names to get you in the
 proximity!

 Salute (small Italian restaurant)
located on 55th in the University District (near the pink shoe
drop off box--if driving by wildly searching for it)

great food and moderate prices--the atmosphere is usually a bit hectic
but I love it...if at a peak time be prepared to either wait outside or
in the miniscule bar (staff is very friendly and very Italian) lots of
yelling back and forth to the kitchen! try it!

Rositas or Rosies?? Mexican Grill on Holman road (formerly El Toreador)

this would be (as the name suggests, Mexican)
this is also moderately priced and you get a lot of food. My main
attraction to this place is the talented little lady in the corner of the
waiting area. She makes homemade tortillas while you wait for your table
and they are wonderful! please tip her! the salsa is also yummy

p.s the seafood fettucine at Salute is wonderful (it is often on the
specials board (and i can't remember the official title) but i request it
when it isn't up there and the chef will usually make it

 good luck!
