I haven't eaten at Miss Helen's in a long time, like, years. But, it was
 good. Killer corn bread pancakes.

don't miss Cool Hand Luke's. I've never done dinner there, but their
breakfasts are fabulous, and they quite possibly make the best cinnamon
rolls in town. Always a line! For ritzy, Daniel's on the lakefront. I also
ate at that new restaurant (well not so new now) just down from Cool Hand
Lukes, its a Latin place. Interesting, because the appetizers and salads
were excellent, the entree was only so-so, and the dessert was fabulous.
 hmm.

for breakfast, there's a set: cafe soleil, cool hand luke's, and the hi spot.
right on union & i think 34th, whatever that big intersection is. also right
there is the madrona ale house, which is reputedly known for (reputedly known
for? never mind) hot chicken wings and decent pizza. the breakfast places
 vary:

soleil: coffee drinks, fritattas, fabulous ethiopian tea, hand-blended.

hi-spot: institution. lines. cinnamon rolls to the nth degree, potatoes,
 eggs.

luke's: newer. lines. potatoes and eggs to the nth degree, cinnamon rolls.
luke's has the bigger lunch/dinner menus (i think) but only had breakfast at
 the other two.

will eat breakfast at any of the three on command.
