I've been recommending Bistro Simpatico (or is it Simpatico Bistro? They have no problem taking my checks either way) for awhile. It's not that I can no longer recommend them...they just continue to change. I've been there four times in the past eight months. Each time I've been there they've had a different menu. I never know what to expect. Is that how I should now approach this restaurant now? Have they decided on a changing menu? How often will it change? Bistro Simpatico (or Simpatico Bistro) used to be "The neighborhood spot to go for cheap pasta OR an Italian style entree and a salad with a bottle of wine and maybe a splash of sambuca in our coffee." In short, it was a place we could walk to and get away with only spending $12.00/person inspite of what we ordered. They are no longer that. I'd be interested in others' experiences and opinions. By the way, Bistro Simpatico (or Simpatico Bistro) is in the basement of the Wallingford Center in Wallingford (duh) on 45th and...well...across the street from the old Food Giant/New QFC. Perhaps the cross street is Wallingford. Go figure. -Jen

Bistro Simpatico (or the other way around)
I remember my first time eating at Simpatico, it was excellent. The roast lamb was very tender and the sole was prepared quite well (that was probably two years ago). More recently, the second and third times dining there were less memorable. It seemed as if the food was just OK. Quite disappointed. Probably won't go back for awhile.
