Kevin,

Don't miss RED SAGE, owned by Mark Miller of COYOTE CAFE fame, for some terrific Southwest-inspired fare at a wide range of price ranges (the spectacular dining room is pricier than the recently-expanded cafe area) and lively ambiance. And the best desserts in town can be found slightly off the beaten path at PATISSERIE CAFE DIDIER (Grace St. between M & K Streets near Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown), which -- in addition to some of the best pastries, cakes, cookies and souffles I've ever tasted -- also serves homey soups, salads and sandwiches in a casual setting.

Bon appetit,
Karen

I recently had a very nice dinner at "Fino" in Georgetown. First rate Italian...

if you want THE BEST Salvadoran food on the East Coast try El Tamarindo in Adams Morgan.

also, best pizza in the city (and actually rated so by several local rags there) is Pizza Paradiso...I think it's on P Street near Dupont Circle.
