I enjoyed Fez moroccan restaurant. Don't remember the street, though. A lot of people recommend Terramar (central american) but to me it was nothing special. One comment, though, don't expect any Bethesda restaurant to have a decent wine list. Bethesda is located in Montgomery County, Maryland -- the ONLY county in the country to control the distribution of beer, wine and liquor. You can only buy what the county deceides you can buy.

I believe you are referring to Louisiana Express on Bethesda Avenue. Parking is impossible but it's a neat little place. A great crab house across the street.

Try Houstons near the Woodmont Triangle. They have fabulous ribs and terrific salads. Also good soups. San Antonio has some good tex-mex food. Pres. Bush used to eat there and they had a chair painted red, white,& blue. It's not there any longer.:) I had lunch today at The Cottonwood Cafe in Bethesda. Now that is one terrific restaurant. Sorta like a less expensive Red Sage (and you don't have to go downtown or to Santa Fe). Had Crab Empanadas - yummmmmm

Try the ice cream at Gifford's. It was a local

Boy, I had forgotten all about Gifford's. And you say there is an ice cream place near the old Grifford's now? Do you remember where? I haven't seen one.

Don't miss Rio Grande Cafe near other restaurants mentioned. Local branch of Houston based Julio's with arguably some of the best Tex Mex anywhere. Not cheap and well worth the wait.
