Sushi restaurants...
(Remove caps to reply via email) Miyagi, also in McLean, and Hama Sushi in Herndon are both very good - I've eaten and have gotten recommendations from friends for both places. Hama Sushi also has noodles/grilled food - I believe Miyagi offers cooked food specials but I've never gotten them.

Blue Ocean in Fairfax is in the same mall as Chuck E. Cheese on Little River. They aren't exceptional, but the prices are modest, the food is good, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Usually, they are playing video tapes from Tokyo TV, sumo matches, sushi chef shows, children's shows, or game shows. They seem to have a primarily Japanese clientele. Also, a friend of mine says that their octopus is excellent, but I have to take his word for it. Yoko in Vienna is quite good, too, but their dinner prices are a bit high for what you get. They have a fairly elegant IKEA-esque atmosphere, which makes them a good choice for a more formal meal. There's a "fast food" sushi joint on route 7 just north of I-66. I've only been there once and they haven't quite got the kinks out, but the food was decent. I can't remember the name. Rodney McClenney Smith [email removed]
