For Afghan, try this place on 23rd Street in S. Arlington, a few awnings down from Chez Froggy. This is two blocks north (veryh short walk) from Crystal City Metro, just on the other side of Jeff Davis Highway. Sorry I forget the name. Look in yellow pages.

I highly recommend Khyber Pass, on Calvert Street, near Connecticut Avenue. It's never written up in books or newspapers, but I've enjoyed it for years. It's small and family run (I think), and right near the Woodley Park metro stop.

Wherever you go, let us know how it turned out.
