In response to a messsage from Celeste Howard, many wrote about the excellence of the Peking Gourmet. A dissenting view: Although the Peking Gourmet does serve generally excellent food, I feel that it isn't worth the high prices and indifferent service. I would rather go more often to "lesser" Chinese restaurants with nearly as good food, more reasonable prices, and friendly staffs. Mike

The hot and sour soup was only lukewarm, and the Peking duck was good, but I liked the sauce (hoison?) that you put on it better! I was with 8 people, so we ordered several dishes to share, but since the people I went with were Chinese (and ordered in Chinese), I didn't get the names of the dishes :( Sorry! We had the beef with sesame seeds that had a sugary coating on it, that was mediocre, the pork and vegetables were good, and a shrimp dish was excellent. I think I've had better Chinese food at the Great Wall in Waldorf, just a local Chinese restaurant. Peking Gourmet is in a shopping plaza, and the decor is nothing special. The best part of it was looking at all the pictures of the celebrities who had eaten there. Celeste
