Nero's Review

We ate at Nero's tonight (where the Zig Zag Cafe used to be on U Street). It is definitely a "best bite"! The ingredients were top quality, except the Parmesan cheese may have been industrial, but was good anyway. The cuisine can be characterized as Italian/Bronx (this is not a derogatory remark, by the way; the food was well prepared) with updates.

The stellar moment of the evening was the delivery of the tiramisu to our table. Even if you're all tirumisu'ed out, save room for this one. It is ethereal.

$12.95 gets you an appetizer, a good Caesar salad, and all the linguine you can eat (with your choice of sauce, though there's an extra charge for each sauce after the first), or, instead, a single helping of one of their other entree selections.

Nero's is on U Street, NW, between 15th and 16th. I believe the exact address is 1526 U Street.
