There's an excellent Vietnamese restaurant called "Little Saigon," about a half (quarter?) mile east of the Eden Center complex. 6218 Wilson Blvd, Falls Church (postal Falls Church, not the real Falls Church) Some things I've posted about it to a mailing list... One thing is, it's got great food. Another thing is, the prices are quite low. And the BEST thing (couple with the other two) is that it's a very-late-night place, and if you walk in at 11:00 and want to eat a real meal, you're treated very well indeed. It seems to be the place that Vietnamese from the area go, very late at night -- on two of our three late-evening stops there, we've been the only all-Caucasian table in the place, and sometimes the only Caucasians. The welcome is warm and not intimidating, and I can recommend the food most highly. The parking lot is about 2/3rds the size of a 7-11 parking lot, but that's the only negative I think I can find about the restaurant. We were back on Saturday evening and I wondered whether anybody else had tried it -- I'm glad to hear some have. We had two /excellent/ salads (one of thin-sliced, barely-cooked beef, quite spicy with ginger and peppers and a lot of lemongrass with fresh basil leaves; the other a knockout rice-noodle dish which went superbly with the "pickled carrot strips" condiment, and which cost a mind-boggling $3.95), and the only minor gripe was that I didn't order a side dish of rice and later wished I had. As usual, there was a moderate crowd of people there at 11:00 at night, and every table was occupied by Vietnamese -- we were two of the three Caucasians in the place. I can't quite figure out why news of this little place hasn't gotten around, but I hope you'll all keep it a secret except with good friends. To sum up -- and I have NO connection with the place except as a sporadic customer -- it's great, inexpensive, uncrowded, open late. One fellow I steered there has been back repeatedly and loves it, and a group of us are probably going in the near future. Enjoy.
