I think you will find a divergence of opinion in this newsgroup about Rio Grande Cafe, in general. Ms. Richman and others (including some in this ng) think the restaurant is deserving of those three stars. Others (like your friend and like me) think otherwise. I think the food is only average, (and the margaritas significantly below average). Certainly not worth the attention it gets. I think there are better places to go, but I won't start that right now. Others will probably chime in with their opinions. Since you are a fan of Mexican food, perhaps you can go and then give us your review of the place....
