I visited this restaurant last month, had what I will call chicken meatballs (the name of the dish is similar to meatballs, but I can't remember what it was) with a sweet and spicy sauce, surrounded by broccolli. I was not impressed by the meatballs themselves, but the sauce and vegetables were good. However, this dinner entree was either $7.95 or $8.95, with no included soup or appetizer or anything. To summarize my opinion, although I ate all my food, I will not go to this establishment again. I understand there is a Peking Restaurant somewhere north of here which is supposed to be good. Neither of these restaurants should be confused with the Beijing Restaurant, right across Rt. 1 from the House of Peking Choice. Has anyone eaten at the Beijing Restaurant?

Sorry you had a bad experience with the above. I'm not a big fan of chicken anyway, but I had the chicken with abalone there and found it to be very good. Another good entree is the bok choy with shiitake mushrooms.

Have not been to Beijing across the street.

I have never eaten there, but I have heard that their *soups* are good.

Beijing is the premier Chinese restaurant in the Laurel area, IMHO. I used to eat there when they were *tiny* and they just kept expanding and expanding. They don't hold back on the garlic, be warned. Try the General Tzo's chicken or the Sesame chicken for starters.

This is not to say there are not other very good restaurants around Laurel. Try Peking Restaurant up in Burtonsville or Mandarin House (Inn?) off Rt 216 north of Laurel. Both of these were mentioned on recent posts in this forum.
