Yes, it sucks. Mediocre food and very high prices. One of the worst dining experiences in DC area. Nice grounds though.

Just a note to second that motion. Terrible service from a staff that can't understand English, our check was a mess and we had to have it changed several times. The owner did come to our table and regaled us with tales of the various Washington Redskins players who eat there...hmmm. It has immense potential... I don't know what the problem is.

Huge and potent mint juleps, though

Never one to mince words, that girl Nancy. :) It's really quite a shame about the Inn. The grounds are really beautiful and there's a neat country store too. I'm sure there are lots of weddings held there, simply because it's such a picturesque place. But...the food. It's very bland and, as Nancy said, fit mostly for "older" palettes. My friend had her rehearsal dinner there and it was very blah. Not bad, just blah.

P.S. The Sitting Duck Pub, underneath the Inn, used to be a fairly good place to go for hamburgs at lunchtime. Haven't been there in years so I can't say how it is now. But the Inn is a Big No-No.
