Yup, Bar-J is its name. It is down in Lorton, a good ways south of Ft. Belvoir but still in Fairfax County. Sits pretty much by itself on the East side of the highway.

They have a bitter rivalry with the Hard Time Cafe who regularly bests them in chili competitions. I prefer the Bar-J to the HTC myself, it is a more authentic Southwestern recipe and tastier. I am not a fan of Cincinatti (which started this thread), I prefer the Texas style so YMMV.

If you mean the Bar-J, yes it's still there.

It's on the left, going south, after Belvoir, attached to a feed store I think. They have another one in Woodbridge behind where Lowes used to be. They are also branching out into steak houses (US 1 in Woodbridge where Ground Round - slowest service on the planet used to be) but it's not too good.

The Bar-J is just south of the Occoquan, in a little strip mall that has mostly closed stores. J chili is better than Hard Times, J chili gets the spicing right every time-Hard Times seems random, some days good, some bad.
When we sold our house in Lake Ridge, we left a packet of info including menus from the local restaurants- the Bar-J was our top recommendation for good cheap eats.
