Try Levi's BBQ and Southern Cuisine on the south edge of DC where South Capitol St. turns into Indian Head Hwy (actually just into MD). Cheap, huge portions, all home cooked. Try the greens, homemade macaroni & cheese, and sweet potato pie. In a converted Arby's. Also check out the Southern Diner near Andrews Air Force base just off Branch Ave a couple miles south of the beltway. 3 Pigs in McLean isn't bad either.

Carolina Cookin on Annandale Road off of US 50 in Falls Church (near Bill Page Toyota) has got pretty good down home food, including Carolina BarBq.. and it's all you can eat. 3 PIgs in Maclean has good quality meat, but the sauce needs some kick; bring along your own supply of Texas Pete.

If you are willing to drive to Maryland for the barBQ, than I would suggest Little Grandmas in Fort Washington, MD. If you are going from DC take 295 south straight onto Indian Head Hwy. Keep going straight until you get to an Exxon on you right. Make a right there onto Fort Washington Rd. The restaurant is on the left hand side of the road across from the Shell gas station. It is a really small dine in or carryout. Hope that you enjoy.
