Foggy Bottom

No Mexican, or Thai in the immediate Foggy Bottom area that I know of. Szihuan Palace on K St between 18th, and 19th has *excellent* northern Chinese. Try the crispy fish, triple, and chicken dishes. Also, the mixed dish appetizer is great!

[No need to watch for ammo on K St., generally. |-]

Also, you might check out Kinkead's on I St. in the Bottom. In addition, Morraco, and La Piata at 20th and M are top notch. Mediterranean Deli on 20th is a good, and cheap.

The best Mexican restaurant in DC is a place called Roxanne's in Adams Morgan near Dupont Circle. Excellent food and not bad decor.
