I'm looking for a compilation of area restaurants that promise diners a special view. I'd appreciate hearing of any special spots that I should add to my ever-growing list. Below are recommendations I have received from friends in the area...

Star of Siam (Adams Morgan) Has rooftop dining and nice views of this part of town.

Willard Hotel. I believe there is rooftop dining here. In fact, I heard that a scene from the movie "No Way Out" was filmed there. If that is true, I do remember that scene and the view is nice.

Marriot Key Bridge Hotel. I believe there is a restaurant/bar located on the top floor.

This is a starting point. Additions are welcome. All feedback will be compiled and I will post a follow-up message later which will incorporate all reader feedback.

Thanks in advance.

Actually, those scenes are from the rooftop at the Hotel Washington, east side of 15th St. just north of Penn. Ave. They have an outdoor (OK, it's semi-covered) bar that infested with tourists in the summer. Light munchies on the menu. They also have a more formal dining room indoors. But the combination of outdoor seating and full menu exists only in the movies.

During the spring and summer, Perry's in Adams Morgan has a nice roof deck open for dining and cocktails. The crowd tends to be young (20's and 30's) and is a mixture of Yuppies, college types and artsy types. The food is o.k., but not outstanding. It's worth checking out, though.
