>A group of us are meeting another group at the Zoo in late September. Does >anyone have any recommendations for good chinese restaurants and >restaurants that serve great light cool fare such as salads, and also any >good seafood restaurants? There is an organic Chinese restaurant in Cleveland Park called Mr. Chens which a couple of people have told me that they like, but I haven't eaten there. I have eaten at City Lights in Dupont Circle, which someone else recommended, and I thought it was very highly overrated. Those 2 and Yenching Palace (aka Retching Palace) are the only Chinese restaurants I can think of anywhere near the zoo. There are lots of other Asian restaurants in both Woodley Park and Cleveland Park, though -- and the zoo is halfway between those 2 metro stops. Tono Sushi is one of the best sushi places I've ever been to; Spices is good, too. Both the Thai place and the Vietnamese place in Woodley Park are pretty good, and have some fairly light dishes, especially the Viet. place. And depending on how close to the zoo you need to be, a 10 minute walk from Woodley Park will bring you to Adams Morgan, where there are a zillion more restaurants. (Don't try and park your car there, though.)
