Mucho thanks to whoever suggested the Burma Restaurant in DC (740 6th St NW, 638-1280). We had one of the best meals ever there.

We started with a green papaya salad, which had an unusual creamy flavor, plus the flavor of the toasted onions on top. So good that we had to order a second helping.

The sour mustard greens with shrimp were also wonderful -- unusual and very tasty.

Finally, the fish curry was excellent. Actually, curry was misleading. It was basically a fish steak (salmon the night we were there), but in a richly flavored tomato-based sauce.

All in all, the most interesting well-flavored food I've had in a long time, and moderately priced too. Good tea, also.

When you go, tell them that you read about it on the net.
