The owner of Bacchus, the excellent Lebanese places in DC and Bethesda, has opened a sit down roast chicken place that beats any other such place I've tried. Chickens are spit-turned on a hickory-charcoal grill and have a flavor unmatched by any chicken chain. Also, it has lots of flavorful side dishes, reminiscent of Bacchus's great appetizers. (Their famous garlic dip comes with the chicken.) It's a sit-down restaurant with a beer and wine license. Place is called, unfortunately, "What-a-Chicken" and is stuffed with chicken knick-nacks but if you ignore them and the name and you go soon, you may be the only ones there. It's new. Nobody has discovered it yet. It's on Del Ray Ave. just east of Old Georgetown Road. Unfortunately, there are so few people there that they often close by around 8 pm. Try it and report back. ________Boyce Rensberger
