Hi there!! Near Key Bridge and the Hyatt hotel is a restaurant called Tom Sarris' Orleans HOuse, great Prime Rib there. Also for BBQ there is Red HOt and Blue, also in that genneral area. Take care

All recommendations IMHO:

Korean "grill-in-the-table": Woo Lae Oak, near Pentagon City mall Sushi: Matuba (sp?). Next to Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse, corner of Walter Reed Dr. and Columbia Pike (Rt. 244). Vietnamese: Little Saigon (many restaurants), Wilson and Washington Blvds. Tex-Mex: Rio Grande Cafe, corner of Fairfax and Taylor Streets (Ballston area). Italian: Pines of Italy, Pershing and Glebe Rds. Neighborhood Bar/Saloon: Whitey's, Pershing Rd. and Washington Blvd. American: Carlyle Grand Cafe. Shirlington area (near I-395 and 4 Mile Run Drive). There are other restaurants in that area that I haven't tried. Wilson Blvd. near the Courthouse Metro Station also has some restaurants.

Enjoy,

Yum.

My favorite in that area -- Cafe Dalat. Two others that are supposed to be great (but I've never been to because Cafe Dalat is so good) are Queen Bee and Little Viet Garden.

Really good food, but a bit pricey. I recommend the Camarones Diablos. For good, cheap Salvadoran, try ABI on Columbia Pike (really good burritos!). For good New Mexican, try Santa Fe Cafe on Wilson Blvd. in Rosslyn.

Would also recommend Pines of Naples (Columbia Pike).

Good choice, although I'd call it "California" rather than "American". I believe Carlyle Grand is completely non-smoking, too. Bistro Bistro (across the street from Carlyle) is pretty good, although a bit pricey.

A few more of my recs:

Thai: Crystal Thai (Route 50, next to Outback Steak House), or the Thai restaurant near Pines of Italy in the Pershing/Glebe area. Or Duangrat's in Bailey's Crossroads.

Middle Eastern: Attila's (the take-out part) on Columbia Pike.

Hot Italian subs for weekday lunches: Oreste on N. Lynn St. in Rosslyn.
