On P St. between 17th & 16th St. NW there are three restaurants within 20 feet of eachother which are all very good. Bua Thai was an excellent place for lunch, the sate was teh ebst I've had at any Thai opalace adn teh main course was good, but not quite hot enough, great thai iced tea (does anyone have a recipe for this!?!?!?). Next door upstairs is skewers, a "Middle Eastern" restaurant featuring medditerannean cusine. I had teh Chiken kabobs with a mezzah starter. The Mezzah was mediocre , but the kabob was _amazing_ great marinade, percefectly grilled! The iced tea was very good as well, brewed, not the standard lipton iced tea. Below Skewaers is La Luna, a great Italian menu place with big portions for teh money. I heartily reccomend all of them, but on weekends teh waits can be long. I suggest trying them for lunch or early weekeday dinner. (sorry for all teh typos, my delete jkey is busted ). Tony Mail me if you want further details on any of tehse...

Just around the corner from these is a very friendly, rarely crowded Japanese restaurant called Sushi Taro with both a sushi bar and a yakitori bar. They also make excellent tempura. ------------------- Jessica Litman Professor of Law Wayne State University Detroit, MI 48202 Internet: [email removed]
