Can anyone please recommend some fine dining restaurants in these two cities? I am going to both and have never been there before. Price is unimportant. Well prepared and good quality food is. French, Italian, continental, ecclectic, seafood, ethnic, BBQ suggestions welcome.

For Richmond I'll make the following suggestions.....

Havana 57
The Frog and the Redneck
Texas - Wisconsin Border cafe
Bill's BBQ

In the Richmond, Virginia area, (i'm a native) I'd certainly recommend the Tobacco Company Restaurant. There is a particular area of town called Shockoe Slip and Shockoe Bottom near downtown (between 12th street and 21st streets) that is just chocked full of good restaurants. Sam Miller's Warehouse, Havana 59 (my personal fave) and 'The Frog And The Redneck' with famous southern chef Jimmy Snead. I believe they even have a webpage or two.

Out in the suburbs, there's a great place called Buckheads Chophouse..great beef.

If there's anything specific you're looking for, pop me an email and I'll point you in the right direction.
