If you like spicy food, you need to visit the Five Spice Cafe on Church

St. Downtown Burlington. Excellent food, the Hot and Sour Soup is not to be missed. I also reccomend the Vietnamese Calamari and the Indonesian Chicken Wings.

I lived in Burlington for eight years, but have not been there in 3 years.

Here we go!
Half hour from Burlington on rt 116 in Bristol is my all time favorite restaurant. Mary's is in a storefront, but don't let that fool you, this is some of the most innovative and exciting menus I have ever seen and it changes soon. Don't miss the garlic soup.
Pauline's and The Village Pump house are are also wonderful. I prefer Pauline's.
India House is the best Indian food I have ever had Hot Tomatoe on Church street had just opened and was quite good Breakfast Buffet, made to order omelettes and waffles at What'as your Beef in the Holiday INN, on Shelburne road is good That's it for now, if you have more questions, feel free to email them to me

UPDATE: Mary's has moved east from the center of Bristol out to an old farmhouse at the bottom of the Appalachian Gap road - MUCH nicer space and the food's still great! I had veal with shripmp and champagne sauce there a few weeks ago that was fabulous.

I agree wholeheartedly. We had dinner there last Thursday night. However, Mary's has moved! Doug and Linda still own the old storefont, but it is now a Caribean-style bar. Mary's (now Mary's at baldwin Creek) is now located in an old estate at the junction of 116 and 17, near Appalachian Gap.

I was just in Burlington this last weekend, and got to check up on some of my old favorites.

For breakfast, I still like Henry's Diner (downtown) and Sneakers (Winooski) the best. Also the Bagel Factory.

One of my absolute favorites is still Waterworks, Winooski, in the Champlain Mill, although atmosphere runs towards the noisy side (but you'd expect that with all that wood).

A place I tried for the first time: Peppers, a BBQ place right next to the above-mentioned Perry's. Really great BBQ (I had pulled pork).

Downtown, Sweetwaters and Leunigs are good, especially for brunch, but I haven't tried them in awhile.
