The New Yorker, the Barking Frog, the Market St. Grill, all downtown.

One hour away (nice drive) in Park City: Chez Betty's at the CopperBottom Inn, and Grappa.

When we lived in SLC, Market St. Grill and Market St. Broiler (owned by the same people) were favorites; another restaurant downtown (also run by the above group) is Baci. I believe The New Yorker is a private club, unless they have changed their policies; great food, ask if you could get a temporary membership. The Barking Frog is in Park City; they have a sister restaurant in SLC, though, whose name I can't remember, but it's located next to The King's English bookstore. It had excellent Italian food.

Hope this helps.
