  Hello,

If you are in Glasgow at all, there is a great small cafe type bar /restaurant right outside Charing Cross Station. It's called The Baby Grand. It's open until the early hours and changes its spots according to the time of day. The capppuchino is wonderful. I haven't been there for a year or so, but will be passing through Glasgow at the end of August so I hope it's still the same.

If you are in Edinburgh the Cafe Royal will give you a goog value lunch. There's a big airy bar downstairs, and a bar restaurant upstairs. Don't take any notice of the rather seedy staircase. It's nice once you get up there. It's on the end of Rose Street (can't remember the street name) behind the Burger King opposite Princes St Station, next to the Royal Bank of Scotland HQ.

York has a lovely veggie restaurant - The Rubicon. You need to book at the weekends 01904 676076.

Topsham (a couple miles from Exeter) in Devon has Denleys wine bar. It has a restaurant, but you can eat in the wine bar weekdays. If you want a veggie dish just ask.

The pub down on the end of the slipway in Beer (Devon) does good grub.

The Nobody Inn at Doddiscombsleigh (Devon) is worth a visit - Get there bang on 1900 if you want a table.

The Anchor (Ithink) at Cockwood (Devon) is good for seafood. I challenge you to get through the shellfish platter

Green Fish Café This is a veggie café in Liverpool. I can't quite remember the name of the side-road it's in, but it's off Mount Pleasant and just across the way from the side of the old Shaftesbury Hotel.

Rasa in Stoke Newington won this year's Time Out award for the best vegetarian meal - not been there.

Heather's Cafe-Bistro, 74 Mcmillian Street, Deptford. 0181 691 6665. - Vegan Cafe - Bistro. Supposed to be good.

Then of course there's the world famous veggie restaurant in Covent Garden, Cranks and at the Cider Press in Dartington near Totness in Devon. Talking of Totness, the centre of the universe (according to the hippie types) there are a number of veggie cafes and restaurants there.

In Matlock in Derbyshire, The Strand is ok if you are in the area.

Think I'd better stop now.

Cheers

Graham.
