Heh. I wish I new. One word: Pret a Manger. Cheap, cheery, friendly, decent (not great -- decent), open until the astoundingly late hour of 11pm. More than I can say for most places I've ever eaten in London.

Or you could venture down into Soho and try to wrestle a table at Bar Italia or one of those other cafes around there. They're open 24 hours, but I warn you -- the people look better than the food, so be prepared for hard core posing (wot? over a cup of coffee? these people are *so* 1988 :p). And on weekend nights, it's hell.

If you really want something cool, I suggest leaving London altogether. If you're limited to England, go to Manchester. If you have any option, fuck this wet little island and go to New York, San Francisco or Sydney. London is where people who catch on too late go to hang out.

-- sock, who is going to open up a Denny's in this sad town...and to think Denny's can make it better...!
