By way of a kickoff, the 'Kashmir' and 'Bengal Brasserie' in Basingstoke are highly recommended .

Anyone keeping a tally? If yes I can provide a fuller review.

This week I am in Cleethorpes and I can thoroughly recommend not eating at ANY of the indian restos here (about 6).. they are all poor!

My favourite two outside of London are still ...

1) The Rupee Room Ayr
2) Taste of Bengal Penrith

And on the Manchester Scene, I can reccomend The Royal Naz on the curry mile, and the Khandoker on Kingsway, which has now got a dedicated take-away 2 doors up.

Seth.

Ok then, I'll weigh-in by mentioning the Mohan in Stevenage (High Street, Old Town), and the Raj Garden in Welwyn Garden City (Haldens), at each of which I have had many an enjoyable meal.

Others, out of my home area, but recommended if they are still as good as when I last visited them:-

East India Company, Stirling (last visited June 2000) (name escapes me), Llangollen (last visited April 2000) Abid, Matlock (last visited April 2000)

...and, of course, the Gurkha Square, Fleet (last visited February 2002).

Regards,
Andrew.
