Re Fish and Chips

I have been reading this thread with a great deal of interest. I thought everybody knew that the only place in England to get good fish and chips is in YORKSHIRE (shouting from the rooftops). Go to Skipton and take a seat in Busy Lizzies fish and chip restaurant. It is heaven, Egon Ronay thinks so too. The large fish are cooked fresh and are encased in the lightest tastiest beer batter you have ever tasted, the chips are as they should be, crisp on the outside and succulent on the inside. Meals come with the necessary accompaniments. A pot of tea and lots of it, mushy peas and bread (has to be white bread for chip butties) and butter.

Or go to Richmond to the chippy just behind the main square, on a cobbled street opposite the small theatre. The food is excellent and you can get servings of the small bits of batter that fall off the fish as a separate side order. Delicious.

This is true praise, I am not associated with the restaurant and what is more I am from Lancashire.

regards and happy eating
