I grew up in Rawdon - an excellent if a little quiet place. The nearest chippy will by up the hill, depending where you are but if you head up Canada Lane there is a nice one there, alternative there used to be one on New Road Side near the lights, although I'm not sure if it is there now. If you want to hang out near one, there is one at the top of well lane, near the Emert Arms (sp?) the local pub near the billing. Other pubs which are a little better would be in Yeadon, a mile up the road. There are about 12 pubs, a curry house and a pizza place on the same road - not bad for a pub crawl as it is a fairly small village. There are one or two other boozers in Rawdon, depending on where you are, the only one I have been in of note was on Harrogate road called the Stone Trough, not a bad place, and often full of the locals... Have fun, I've moved to Hull now... In article , David Reynolds Someone wrote: >I'm moving from Halifax to Rawdon in the nr future. So any advice on >closest boozers, 24hrers and chippys please.
