POLLYANA's - you'll have to look up where, but it won't be hard to find, especially if you buy a copy of the Time Out dining guide, which is something you ought to have anyway- it's a magazine that publishes a yearly dining guide. Pollyana's has quite delicious food, and a wonderful wine list with a most knowledgeable owner- you'll be in for a fine meal, and the prices are quite reasonable. If you like Chinese food and Dim Sum in particular, New World in Chinatown (it's only one block long) has some of the best I've had anywhere in the world. And if you want something decidedly cheap and "low end" but delicious (and a great lunch), go to Stick and Bowl in the Kensington High Street. You'll sit at Formica counters and have a really delicious meal if you have their namesake Stick and Bowl noodles; I don't remember what they officially call it, house noodles, special noodles, but 1) they'll tell you and 2) everybody will be eating it. (I was in London for 3 months and these are the restaurants I remember most fondly.)

Try the 'Atlantic Bar and Grill', next to Picadilly Circus I can't remember the street name, but tel no is: 0171 - 7344888.

Ambience - you have to see it to appreciate it.

Reservation essential - you won't get in otherwise.

I enjoyed the "Le Caprice" where I had the BEST calves liver in my life. Make reservation early, like a month. But the bar stool (not a table) seems to be available in a day or so.
