I'm looking for a Greek restaurants in Central London... so far I've come up with Cafe O (good review) and Yialousa Taverna (colleague eats there). Any comments on these places or recommendations for others? My wife and I are visiting for a few days pre-Christmas relaxation and are on the lookout for good places to eat.

TIA

Lemonia in Regents Park Road (020 7586 7454) is very popular, but I can recommend the nearby Andy's Taverna in Bayham Street (020 7485 9718).

The best I've had lately in central London is Cafe Grec in Charlotte Street, though there are some very good and jolly ones in Camberwell.

We ended up eating at Beotys (just of Leicester Square) which was very good. Excellent food and the service was the best I've ever come across in a restaurant. The decor and atmosphere are more elegant and slightly reserved than 'bustling mediterranean' but it felt nothing other than relaxed and friendly.

The other night we went out to Migen, Seymour Place, which is a very cafe-like Oriental restaurant that has a range of Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Singaporean and Malaysian dishes on the menu. Both meals were very good.

Thanks for the recommendations... we look forward to trying them out!

Cafe O closed this year, but I agree that it was good while it was open.

Daphne in Bayham Street (Camden) is also good, though a little cramped and Marios in West Hampstead was always good value.
