I had been looking at a local curry house that had recently been totally revamped ... no flock wallpaper in sight.

Took the plunge and went there last night ..... it was superb, the welcome was great ... knowledge of waiters excellent, and the range of dishes the largest I have ever come across. Many complete ranges of dishes that were new to me ... and I have been eating curries since 1967.

They even provided a taster selection of new dishes for you to try at no cost.

Food was impeccable, plates & dishes hot, and sparkling clean.

All in all a place to recommend.

So if you are in the S.Wales area, the place in question is the ZAFRAN in Skewen which is a small village between Neath & Swansea.

Hmm, this has just confused me further.

My local (Rise of the Raj, Evington Road, Leicester - Its currytastic) serves a dish called Zafran. What confuses me is that I thought 'Zafran' meant 'Saffron', yet the dish called Zafran didn't have conspicuous amounts of saffron in it. It did, hovever, have an absolutely leathal salad of raw onion and garlic on top of it. It was basically a chicken dish in a lamb-mince based sauce.

Can anybody shed any light on my confusion?

David

P.S. To carry on the South Wales connection, I would suggest the Shahi Noor, High St., Barry. I would not suggest any other part of Barry for any other reason whatsoever.
