I used to eat in the most excellent Dilshad on Bristol Road in Selly Oak when I was a struggling actor (think Withnail and I) - usually after a few foaming ales down the road at The Varsity. Recent reports indicate it is still offers that same good VFM grub. IIRC, there's 10% discount for nurse and students - you can even try the 'I'm a student nurse, can I have 20% discount?' wheeze. I once did but they smiled and politely declined Details here: http://www.itchybirmingham.co.uk/venues/544.html Enjoy! bignoseduglyguy From [email removed] Mon Nov 1 07:54:02 EST 2004 Article: 18407 of uk.food+drink.indian

It was cheap and cheerful but the food was excellent. The whole road there was full of Indian shops and restaurants so there's plenty choice, seem to remember - M6, Junction 6, Queensway, through the centre until a crossroads with a McDonalds Drive-in on your right, turn left there, up a hill past the biggest Mosque you've ever seen, under a railway bridge and first right! The 'large' naan were the size of a tablecloth, buy beers in the off-sales next door. happy hunting Willie B From [email removed] Fri Oct 15 18:03:38 EDT 2004 Article: 18333 of uk.food+drink.indian
